What’s New for 2025

Contribution Changes

Johns Hopkins Health System pays most of the cost of your medical, dental and vision insurance, and 100% of your short-term disability and basic life insurance.

As we keep up with the growing demands of health care inflation while minimizing the impact on employees, there are modest changes to medical, dental and vision contributions.

Dependent care FSA

  • You can contribute up to $5,000 in 2025.
  • You have until March 31, 2025, to use the remaining funds in your 2024 FSA for claims incurred in 2024. You can’t carry over unused funds.

New Medical Plan Options

As part of our harmonization efforts, Johns Hopkins Employer Health Programs (EHP) medical plans will be offered to All Children’s Hospital employees.

In addition to Allegiance medical plans, you can choose from two EHP medical plans:

  • Johns Hopkins Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) Plan
  • Johns Hopkins Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) Plan

These are the same medical plans we offer to other JHHS hospitals and member organizations.

Compared to the Allegiance plans, the EHP plans …

  • Have lower deductibles, so you’ll pay less out of pocket before the plan begins to pay.
  • Have lower copays for in-network primary and urgent care visits.
  • Use a larger Cigna network, so most employees can continue seeing their current providers.

Both the Allegiance and EHP plans …

  • Use a combination of coinsurance and copays for the cost of care and can be paired with a health care FSA .
  • Offer no-cost coverage for All Children’s providers – you’ll continue to pay nothing out of pocket (except for the emergency room).
  • Administer prescription drug coverage through CVS Caremark and offer the same no-cost programs for specialty, asthma and diabetes medications.

Compare Plans And Provider Networks

View a side-by-side comparison of the Allegiance and EHP medical plans.

Search the Cigna network for your current Allegiance providers to confirm they’re in network with EHP or find other in-network doctors and facilities near you.
